Caught Looking for a Job
Discovered Looking for a Job Discovered Looking for a Job Should you go through the motions to keep your pursuit of employment a mystery, or will the possibility you'll leave give you new influence in the workplace?Part 1: Most occupation searchers take to the pursuit of employment while still utilized and most direct their inquiry in the shadows, stressed that their momentum boss will find their unfaithful interest and respond correctively. Through the span of a few stories Ladders will investigate the results of being found, how to lead a mystery quest for new employment and how to react should you be discovered searching for a job. You've chosen to search for another position, yet there's an issue: You haven't left your old one yet. Truth be told, you're not even sure in the event that you need to leave. You may just be trying things out to check whether there are without a doubt better proposals to be had.How concerned must you be that your boss may discover you searching for a new position? Imagine a scenario in which you don't start a pursuit however are rather explored or called by an enrollment specialist. Is that something to avoid your boss?Legally, your activity may be secured in case you're discovered looking, as long as you don't look on organization time, said Linda Duffy, leader of Leadership Habitude, a staffing consultancy. A few states have laws that explicitly ensure such conduct, and most bosses (at any rate authoritatively) are kind about workers gauging their choices, she said.I don't know about any organization who might have an arrangement forbidding individuals from work looking while they're utilized, she said. Indeed, I accept that such an approach would be viewed as unlawful in numerous states. In California, for instance, (the) Labor Code permits representatives to document claims for loss of wages as the consequences of 'downgrade, suspension, or release from work for legal lead happening during nonworking hours from the business' premises.' Companies may, obviously, have approaches that f orbid representatives from utilizing organization hardware or working hours to direct a pursuit of employment since that would be considered 'for individual use.' In any case, legitimate insurance aside, supervisors and supervisors can at present discover approaches to punish the activity searchers among their staff.I know about recruiting directors who take improper, retaliatory activity against workers who they accept to be work looking, Duffy said. It absolutely is terrible for somebody politically to leave it alone realized that he/she is searching for a new position while they're despite everything utilized. Except if somebody is in a specific, specialty position for which nobody else is qualified, that individual ought to be stressed over loss of employment, loss of future progression openings and different structures for retribution.Broken trustWhether you're lawfully ensured or not, there's a hazard in publicizing your pursuit of employment to an extreme, said Mitch Feldman, leader of official arrangement firm A.E. Feldman. Regardless of whether your manager isn't acting malevolently, he may must be proactive about contemplating your replacement. If an official is in an organization and the person in question is found glancing in an occupation, anything goes, he said. In the event that the firm discovers, at that point they begin searching for another person so they don't have a void for that long of a period. At that point they let the individual go. In case you're not doing it with 100 percent circumspection on your part, try not to be shocked on the off chance that you get fired. The one special case is the point at which you know that your activity is probably going to be disposed of. On the off chance that that is the situation, it may assist with being straightforward with your boss. Your manager may acknowledge or by and large support your activity hunting. There's a trust factor between the worker and the business, or between the chief and the sub ordinate, and when that trust is broken, it's finished. It's not neighborly, he said. There are different events where it is amicable and it may be the case that that activity will be dispensed with in a year or two and they have an adaptable understanding where the firm is telling the representative you better beginning looking, on the grounds that in two years your activity will be up. On the off chance that an organization is migrating quite a while from now starting with one city then onto the next, at that point it's clear. Everything is reasonable game.Marilyn Santiesteban, executive of profession administrations at the board counseling firm King Bishop, agrees that getting found searching for another position can harm your relationship with your employer. If you start the procedure, it's an unmistakable sign that you feel whatever issues you have at work can't be fixed, Santiesteban said. Work resembles some other relationship - your manager will feel dismissed and hurt. They may blow up or guarded. At the point when you give your notification, they may pick to have you leave immediately (rather than about fourteen days). This is extremely regular in occupations where representatives approach touchy information. You must be prepared for all alternatives.ScoutedEven on the off chance that you don't straightforwardly search for occupations, you should be exceptionally cautious when explored. Utilizing a proposal as influence for better remuneration at your present position can be a crapshoot. If you are cheerful where you will be, you may decide to tell your boss about the offer and use it as influence to get a salary raise or different advantages, Santiesteban said. This transpired once. I cherished my present position, however the offer was significantly better. I carried it to my chief, and he promptly countered it. For my situation it turned out to be, yet a few businesses will simply wish you well and not counter. There are consistently special cases to the standard, and sometimes you may even be lawfully shielded from reprisal in case you're found searching for another position. All in all, be that as it may, it's most astute to play your inquiry extremely near the vest.

Is our approach to solving the productivity crisis all wrong - Hays Journal Viewpoint careers advice blog
Is our approach to solving the productivity crisis all wrong - Hays Journal As productivity levels stagnate to below pre-financial crisis levels, is time running out for traditional measures, such as output? Will businesses need to focus on new areas to see improvements? It feels like a week cannot pass without seeing a new story on the productivity crisis faced by many organisations. And the headlines are not unfounded. Deloitte analysis of International Labour Organization data shows productivity growth has failed to beat the 3.9 per cent peak it reached in 2006, before falling off sharply after the 2008 financial crisis. In 2016, global productivity grew just 1.8 per cent and Dr Rumki Majumdar, a manager and economist for Deloitte Services in Bengaluru, India, who conducted the analysis, says little has changed since then. Furthermore, a June 2019 survey of 400 business leaders in the UK and US with more than 1,000 employees, commissioned by Concentra Analytics, revealed that 86 per cent of Britainâs largest businesses are worried about their ability to raise their productivity levels, with 39 per cent describing their productivity as âvery concerningâ. Why does this matter? Because, says Majumdar, productivity is one of the two main drivers of business and economic growth â" the other being increases in the number of people working. While ageing populations are presenting opportunities in this area for many employers, the importance organisations place on improving productivity remains. The persistence of low productivity is leading many to question the current globally accepted ways of measuring productivity, which focus more on output, meaning many organisations are simply trying to squeeze more out of their existing operations. Some argue that there is much more at play here, including organisational and people factors. Is it time for businesses and policymakers to refocus their attention on a broader range of drivers to not only get a more balanced picture of productivity performance, but also to have a better chance of improving it? Implement new measures of productivity Global learning company Pearson has seen its productivity levels improve since the business moved away from the traditional focus of output per hour, says Kevin Lyons, its Senior HR Manager in London. Pearsonâs heritage is as a publisher of printed educational materials, but as customers focus less on print and more on digital, less on ownership and more on access, the company has undergone a corresponding digital transformation. As part of that customer-led change, Pearson now focuses on the quality of customer service as a driver of productivity. âMeasuring yourself against quality of customer service keeps you nimble, reviewing your processes and looking at your culture and, therefore, youâre less likely to lapse into lower productivity,â says Lyons. Reviewing processes and linking to outcomes has led Pearson to outsource a number of activities in pursuit of delivering better customer service, which has already led to higher productivity levels. One example is the offshore outsourcing of the help desk for the 30,000 assessment associates Pearson employs each year, who assess examinations set by Pearson. The move has transformed the service the business is able to offer to its associates, Lyons says. First-line support has improved significantly, with 90 per cent of calls now being resolved at first stage, compared with a much lower percentage when the help desk was in-house. The business is also able to better manage peaks in demand for the service. And, while there are now fewer employees in the UK, they are able to focus on higher-skilled work such as helping associates with queries about exam performance and management, boosting productivity in house. The outsourced operation is also excelling in customer service, which is its core competence. âProductivity is key to what weâre talking about here,â says Lyons. âIt runs right through the outsourcing approaches that weâve undertaken.â Reorganise processes to find improvements While outsourcing is one way of reorganising processes to boost productivity, pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has tried a different tack. When new CEO Albert Bourla joined, he tasked managers with finding a way to simplify processes, structures and governance to create a more productive organisation that empowered colleagues and drove faster decision-making. A leadership team launched a corporate-wide online platform project which crowdsourced colleaguesâ experiences of overly complicated processes that were taking up time and energy. Meetings and emails emerged as the biggest drains on productivity. A team of volunteers was engaged to help come up with practical and quickly implementable solutions. âThe key to this initiative was the involvement of colleagues in the assessment and solution finding,â says HR Business Partner of Pfizer in Russia. âThis boosts the level of engagement as we feel that we are all part of the process. The changes have helped to free up capacity for growth and liberate our time to focus on what really matters â" delivering value to patients and people who need us.â Revise roles and responsibilities to get more from employees Freeing employees up to focus on higher-value work is an example of another technique many companies are using to boost productivity â" reassessing roles and responsibilities. Research from Bain Company reveals compelling links between this type of talent management and productivity. It finds that the best companies are more than 25 per cent more productive than the rest, thanks to the way they manage their best talent, including the roles and responsibilities they assign to them. This involves identifying and tracking the progress of star talent, assembling all-star teams and putting them to work on mission-critical initiatives, removing obstacles to the team working effectively together, and controlling team member egos. The Concentra Analytics research also finds a clear correlation between organisations that are most productive and that have macro and micro insight into profit per worker. It calculates that if large companies in the UK were to improve their insight into their human capital in this way, UK productivity could witness a 0.5 per cent or £10.4 billion boost. Rupert Morrison, CEO of Concentra Analytics, explains: âThe reality is that most large companies donât know enough about their employees or what they do, so itâs hardly surprising that thereâs this much potential upside in getting a greater insight into whatâs going on with your human capital. âFor organisations that are investing in their future, getting better information on people and what theyâre working on improves productivity by making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time to deliver the operating plan. âItâs making sure people are clear about their roles, have the competencies for the job and can make a difference that inspires them, not a Friday beer fridge and a pool table.â Offer high value opportunities In their book Now, Discover Your Strengths, US management gurus Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton analyse a Gallup study of 2 million people and argue that by identifying the strengths of individual employees â" rather than trying to fix their weaknesses â" organisations can place them in the most suitable roles allowing them to flourish. This reduces turnover and boosts morale and business performance. At Pearson, Lyons says employees are really benefiting from the motivation gained from doing higher-value work in the wake of the companyâs outsourcing exercise. Itâs a result thatâs been achieved by reviewing work processes, setting clear goals for people and having a clear performance management framework in place. This means that employees know whatâs expected of them and their roles are intrinsically rewarding and interesting because the effort has been made to make them so. Lyons urges organisations to strike a balance between performance management and people development, which means investing across the talent agenda in areas such as learning and development, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and mentoring. If you can get these things right, employees are less likely to experience the job insecurity that productivity-gain initiatives can sometimes engender. Identify the needs of your workforce Looking beyond organisational roles and responsibilities to the personal needs of employees can also help to boost productivity. Juliet Turnbull is Founder and CEO of 2to3days, a start-up whose purpose is to advance womenâs equality in the workplace through the power of flexible working. It connects progressive companies with highly capable women who want to pursue their careers on a flexible basis. Set up four years ago, the company now has a community of more than 30,000 candidates. Turnbull says that companies that are willing to adapt to accommodate flexible workers â" through, for example, a change in working hours or the provision of technology to accommodate remote working â" are much more likely to have happy workers who are more productive and loyal. This, in turn, pushes down recruitment costs, immediately impacting on the cost side of the productivity calculation. Meeting the personal needs of employees isnât something that organisations necessarily need to take sole responsibility for. Dorset, a region located on Englandâs south coast, has been experiencing falling productivity levels in recent years. One major obstacle to boosting productivity is an ageing population. The Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is responsible for coordinating a local industrial strategy for the region that will help to boost productivity. It is currently working with local stakeholders, including employers, to devise this strategy. As part of this work, it will be looking at how the region measures âproductivityâ â" a point raised by many respondents to a public consultation, who want to see Dorsetâs natural and cultural capital considered. LEP Director Lorna Carver explains: âWeâre not saying that economic methodology around productivity is going to fall away â" productivity is still about value â" but how do you balance that with some of these things that are increasingly important to people around health, wellbeing, social value and cultural capital? âHow you measure those wider factors is the tricky thing and thatâs something weâre looking at currently,â Carver says. Use technology to boost your productivity In its 2017 report â" A future that works: automation, employment and productivity â" the McKinsey Global Institute highlights automation as a way of offsetting the impact of a declining share of working age population. According to its scenario modelling, automation could raise productivity levels by 0.8 to 1.4 per cent annually. Pearsonâs Lyons describes automation as a great way to remove mundane processes and increase quality with error-free results. He sees it providing a future boost to productivity as outsourcing providers embrace sophisticated chatbots to provide first-line support, for example. But, he warns, organisations should follow a strict process when deciding what to automate: review the activity; re-engineer it if you can; and only then automate it. If you automate rubbish, youâll produce rubbish, so itâs important to get it right, Lyons says. âTechnology can transform the working environment because it can allow you to lift yourself from that mundane, process stuff that technology does much better anyway and allow you to do the strategic and more emotional work that technology canât cover,â says Lyons. âThat blend of humans and technology working together is how the future is likely to evolve.â At Pfizer, automation is part of a transition to becoming a growth company. The Pfizer Digital project is designed to identify the technological capabilities needed to operate more efficiently internally, among other things. As part of this, the company has automated HR processes via Workday HMRS. How can companies deal with the unsettling effect that automation might have on employees? âYou need to allow colleagues time to adapt to new technology and see its advantages,â says Novoderezhkina. âOnce they understand the gains, they will use it effectively. The simpler and more intuitive your technology solution is, the better effect you will see in its implementation and further use.â Whether theyâre thinking about automation, outsourcing, revising roles and responsibilities or adapting workplaces to the changing needs of employees, employers need to flex their old ways of boosting productivity to include a much wider range of drivers. Whatâs clear is that people are a major influencer on productivity and so it will be important to get their buy-in to any productivity gain activities. Novoderezhkina offers some valuable advice: âProvide as much information as possible about any changes, concentrate on the good things, treat colleagues with respect and support them on their change journey.â Did you enjoy this blog? AI is a part of our everyday life and thats why I think its important we understand the different concepts of Artificial Intelligence. This article on Types Of Artificial Intelligence will help you understand the different stages and categories of AI.To get in-depth knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, you can enroll for live Machine Learning Engineer Master Program by Edureka with 24/7 support and lifetime access. The following topics will be covered in this article:What Is Artificial Intelligence?Stages Of Artificial IntelligenceTypes Of Artificial IntelligenceBranches Of Artificial IntelligenceWhat Is Artificial Intelligence? In 1956, the term Artificial Intelligence was defined by John McCarthy. He defined AI as:The science and engineering of making intelligent machines. What Is AI Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaArtificial Intelligence can also be defined as the development of computer systems that are capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence, such as decision making, object detection, solving complex problems and so on.Now lets understand the different stages or the types of learning in Artificial Intelligence.Stages Of Artificial IntelligenceWhile I was doing my research I found a lot of articles that stated that Artificial General Intelligence, Artificial Narrow Intelligence, and Artificial Super Intelligence are the different types of AI.To be more precise, Artificial Intelligence has three stages.Types Of Learning In Artificial IntelligenceArtificial Narrow IntelligenceArtificial General IntelligenceArtificial Super IntelligenceThese are the three stages through which AI can evolve, rather than the 3 types of Artificial Intelligence.Lets understand each stage in depth.Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)Also known as Weak AI, ANI is the stage of Artificial Intelligence involving machines that can perform only a narrowly defined set of speci fic tasks. At this stage, the machine does not possess any thinking ability, it just performs a set of pre-defined functions.Artificial Narrow Intelligence Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaExamples of Weak AI include Siri, Alexa, Self-driving cars, Alpha-Go, Sophia the humanoid and so on. Almost all the AI-based systems built till this date fall under the category of Weak AI.Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)Also known as Strong AI, AGI is the stage in the evolution of Artificial Intelligence wherein machines will possess the ability to think and make decisions just like us humans. There are currently no existing examples of Strong AI, however, it is believed that we will soon be able to create machines that are as smart as humans.Artificial General Intelligence Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaStrong AI is considered a threat to human existence by many scientists, including Stephen Hawking who stated that:The development of full artificial intelligence could spe ll the end of the human race. It would take off on its own, and re-design itself at an ever-increasing rate. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldnt compete and would be superseded.Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)Artificial Super Intelligence is the stage of Artificial Intelligence when the capability of computers will surpass human beings. ASI is currently a hypothetical situation as depicted in movies and science fiction books, where machines have taken over the world.Artificial Super Intelligence Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaI believe that machines are not very far from reaching this stage taking into considerations our current pace. The pace of progress in artificial intelligence (Im not referring to narrow AI) is incredibly fast. Unless you have direct exposure to groups like Deepmind, you have no idea how fastit is growing at a pace close to exponential. The risk of something seriously dangerous happening is in the five-year timeframe. 10 y ears at most. Elon Musk quoted. So, these were the different stages of intelligence that a machine can acquire. Now lets understand the types of AI, based on their functionality.Types Of AIWhen someone asks you to explain the different types of Artificial Intelligence systems, you must categorize them based on their functionalities.Based on the functionality of AI-based systems, AI can be categorized into the following types:Reactive Machines AILimited Memory AITheory Of Mind AISelf-aware AIReactive Machine AIThis type of AI includes machines that operate solely based on the present data, taking into account only the current situation. Reactive AI machines cannot form inferences from the data to evaluate their future actions. They can perform a narrowed range of pre-defined tasks.Reactive Machine AI Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaAn example of Reactive AI is the famous IBM Chess program that beat the world champion, Garry Kasparov.Limited Memory AILike the name suggests Li mited Memory AI, can make informed and improved decisions by studying the past data from its memory. Such an AI has a short-lived or a temporary memory that can be used to store past experiences and hence evaluate future actions.Limited Memory AI Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaSelf-driving cars are Limited Memory AI, that uses the data collected in the recent past to make immediate decisions. For example, self-driving cars use sensors to identify civilians crossing the road, steep roads, traffic signals and so on to make better driving decisions. This helps to prevent any future accidents.Theory Of Mind AIThe Theory Of Mind AI is a more advanced type of Artificial Intelligence. This category of machines is speculated to play a major role in psychology. This type of AI will focus mainly on emotional intelligence so that human believes and thoughts can be better comprehended.Theory of Mind AI Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaThe Theory of Mind AI has not yet been f ully developed but rigorous research is happening in this area.Self-Aware AILets just pray that we dont reach the state of AI, where machines have their own consciousness and become self-aware. This type of AI is a little far fetched given the present circumstances. However, in the future, achieving a stage of superintelligence might be possible.Self-Aware AI Types Of Artificial Intelligence EdurekaGeniuses like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawkings have consistently warned us about the evolution of AI. Let me know your thoughts on this in the comment section.AI is a very vast field that covers many domains like Machine Learning, Deep Learning and so on. Christmas party dos and donts
Christmas party dos and donts by Michael Cheary Tis the season of the Christmas party.Whilst Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and peace to all men, the Christmas party is traditionally seen as quite the opposite.Cue bad DJ playing a selection of Christmas classics, and awkward conversations with people you dont really know that well at the bar. It always seems like a good idea before the big night, but lets face it, theyre usually a little less Mistletoe and Wine and a little more Fairytale of New York.Even with management coming up with ever more ingenious ways to keep things in check (e.g. the old party on a weeknight trick), the combination of a free bar and a shiny dance floor can make the annual office knees-up a potential minefield. In the highly unlikely event we can offer some advice youll actually use, heres our list of Christmas party dos and dontsChristmas party: dos:Pace yourself If youre a drinker, this is often easier said than done, but you should try and keep it in mind. Lets be h onest, the office party usually means youre in it for the long haul. Make sure you eat properly in preparation, even if theres food provided (the buffet wont last long). Finally, make sure you have plenty of water in between drinks to keep hydrated.Remember: Try and avoid mixing your drinks. Dont let yourself become another Tequila statisticBuddy up Chances are, you may find it hard to keep to the first point. If you think this might be the case, always plan ahead. Find a colleague who youre close with and make a pact. That way, if one of you ends up falling asleep at the bar or crying into your Chardonnay, someone is there to look out for you.Get involved Its an unavoidable truth that at least one person or group of people will avoid interaction or enjoyment at all costs or alternatively, cant keep their thumb off the Facebook check-in button. Its also an unavoidable truth that this doesnt endear them to anyone. Theres a time and a place, and the Christmas partys not it.Remember : Any embarrassing pictures can wait until the next morning. They also help with the flashbacksAvoid the mistletoe Some people embrace the Christmas spirit a little too much. And, after a few drinks too many, it may seem like a good idea to express your true feelings to that special person in the office. Mistletoe is not your friend, and should be avoided at all costs. All I Want for Christmas is You also falls into this category. Cornering your crush singing Mariah Carey at the top of your lungs is pretty much bordering on torture.Book your cab home in advance Possibly the most important tip of all. Because nobody wants to sleep in the station waiting for the first train home. Other things to remember: Thank the host, thank your boss, keep your shoes in sight, avoid the photocopier.Christmas party: donts:Be honest A wise man once said at Christmas, you tell the truth. However, this should, in no way, apply to your Christmas party. Starting sentences with I didnt like you when I f irst met you, wow, you scrub up well and dont say anything, but will not form part of an effective career progression plan.Talk excessively about work Targets, projections and any other work-based conversations should be provisionally left at the door. Youre there to eat, drink and be merry. Work should only be brought up in emergency situations, such as getting caught in a one-on-one situation with the managing director. The rule here is necessity. A boring conversation is always better than an awkward silence.Network See above. If youre looking for a promotion, this probably isnt the best place to do it. By all means branch out and talk to someone new, but dont overdo it. After a few drinks, you might not be making quite the impression you think you are.Get too serious As a rule, avoid speaking about religion, politics and money. People can have strong opinions about these things, and theyre unlikely to change them during the course of the evening, no matter how charming and per suasive you think youre being.Cry If youre an emotional drunk, always take proper precautions. Waterproof mascara is definitely the way forward.Other things not to do: Sing, stare, steal, attempt to make a toast, break dance.

Resume Writing and Procrastination
Resume Writing and ProcrastinationA lot of people have a difficult time writing their resumes. They get distracted by other things going on in their lives, or they simply forget what it is they need to include in their job descriptions. Procrastination is a big part of this problem, but it's also largely misunderstood. Let's look at why procrastination can actually be a huge asset when it comes to applying for a job.First, let's take a look at the big picture. While procrastination can lead to serious issues when it comes to the actual job application process, it's also incredibly useful. People get really creative when they're pressed for time. The ability to brainstorm, come up with new ideas, and write them down as quickly as possible is a huge asset. This is one of the biggest benefits of procrastination. In addition to being creative and able to come up with new ideas, however, a person who procrastinates during the resume writing process has a lot of other advantages. One of the biggest reasons why many people procrastinate is that they don't want to be thinking about a job for very long. They're not busy or anything, but they still have jobs and families to go back to. Since they aren't focused on a specific job for very long, they tend to become habituated to looking at their resume every day for a month or two. Most people also don't do their own resume writing. Instead, they often hire a writing service to do this for them. Often, this means that the service doesn't spend any real time thinking about the person's qualifications. What you end up with is a resume that is written with little or no attention to the person's potential. These kinds of job applications are also usually rejected because they lack something that other applications seem to have. They may have been submitted at a certain time, for a certain number of applicants, or just because someone felt they had a winning resume. It's all very subjective, and some hiring managers are going to b e very surprised by what they see when they go through these resumes. Sometimes, this is enough to disqualify the applicant entirely.Another important benefit of procrastination is that it can take a job away from someone who should really have it. For example, if an applicant is trying to get a job in a certain field, they can keep applying until they're eventually rejected. If they know that they've spent so much time trying to get a job that they're basically wasting it, they'll stop submitting applications. What this does is save the company the trouble of having to sift through so many applicants. The company doesn't have to pay for anyone's time.Someone who knows that they're stuck in a specific area of their industry or that their skills are going to be needed at some point in the future will often be less likely to procrastinate. This can help to give them the confidence they need to focus on the job search, instead of worrying about their employment situation. Sometimes, th is can even result in finding a new job faster than would otherwise be possible. When it comes to applying for a job, the best approach is to avoid procrastination, since this is probably the biggest detriment to the job application process. It's also the most beneficial to the employer because it makes it much easier to find work-ready candidates and a high-quality resume, without having to expend any resources on procrastination.

Four Illustrated Wedding Invitation Ideas
Four Illustrated Wedding Invitation Ideas In the past, wedding invites were pretty standard, white paper with black calligraphy, but over the yearâs new trends and innovative design ideas have made way for endless invitation creations. These days, couples and more specifically brides tend to carry a singular theme or color scheme throughout all of their wedding festivities, but there are so many ideas and choices that switching things up with each invitation is always an option. With wedding season coming to a close, weâve seen new trends, old traditions, and everything in between. So, weâve curated a list of five illustrated wedding invitation ideas to inspire the new wave of couples who will soon embark on their wedding planning journey. Botanicals and Leaves Floral or leafy wedding invitations are a very popular version of an illustrated wedding invitation. They make for some of the most stunning designs and are a classic bridal look. Monograms Monogrammed wedding invitations are super cute and a fun design that couples can incorporate into their wedding invitations and décor. Monogrammed illustrations can be initials standing on their own or enclosed in a watercolor mark, colored circle designs or even highlighted with your wedding color. Lines and Swirls From swashes and swirls to art deco, artistic illustrations can take a standard invitation design from plain to stand out. A saturated amount of thin straight lines with harsh angles make a modern design while curvy swirls are more of a romantic look. Featured Themes If youâre planning a themed wedding, invitations are a great way to feature that theme through design. Whatever theme you have in mind, search for wedding invitations with an illustration that represents that theme. Maybe youâre having a rustic farm wedding, choose a design with a cute barn illustration. Maybe youâre having a Parisian wedding; the Eiffel Tower is a festive illustration that would suit your theme perfectly. Featuring your theme is an easy way to create fun and less traditional invitations. These are only a handful of ideas to inspire your illustrated wedding invitations and Basic Invite has over 1000 more.
